Pakistan finalises squad for T20 World Cup

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has finalised the 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, set to take place in the United States and West Indies from June 1 to June 29. Sources close to the selection committee revealed the composition of the team, which includes a mix of fast bowlers, all-rounders, wicket-keepers, and specialist batsmen.

The Pakistani squad will feature five fast bowlers, four all-rounders, three wicket-keepers, two batsmen, and one spinner. Prominent names such as Shadab Khan, Saeem Ayub, and Usman Khan have been confirmed, with Haris Rauf declared fully fit and ready to compete.

The squad will be led by captain Babar Azam, with other key players including Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan, Azam Khan, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Saeem Ayub, and Iftikhar Ahmed. This formidable line-up aims to bring home the T20 World Cup title.

In addition, the bowling attack will be bolstered by the inclusion of Abrar Ahmed, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Muhammad Amir, Naseem Shah, and Abbas Afridi.

The PCB has also named three travel reserves: Salman Ali Agha, Hasan Ali, and Irfan Niazi, who will be on standby to join the squad if required.
