Pakistan reigns supreme in CAVA Nation’s Volleyball League

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan men’s volleyball team reigned supreme as champions in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Nation’s Volleyball League on Friday as they defeated Turkmenistan in the final match held at the Liaquat Gymnasium.

Spectators were treated to a treat as the crowd witnessed Pakistan secure a 3-1 victory over Turkmenistan, with set scores of 25-21, 25-19, 20-25, and 25-14.

Pakistan showcased strong offensive and defensive strategies, establishing early leads in the first two sets. Although Turkmenistan managed to stage a comeback in the third set, Pakistan regained control in the fourth set to seal victory.

Pakistan remained undefeated throughout the entire tournament, with one victory after another. Their journey to the final included victories against Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan.

Against Iran, Pakistan secured a 3-1 victory on Thursday with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-16, and 25-20.

In the semifinals, Pakistan defeated Kyrgyzstan with a 3-0 set victory. The set scores for this match were 25-18, 27-25, and 27-25, securing Pakistan’s place in the final.

Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan secured the third position in the tournament after defeating Sri Lanka in a closely contested match.

The Pakistan Volleyball Federation hosted the championship, with diplomats from various countries coming to watch the final match. The Federal Minister of Planning Ahsan Iqbal presented awards to the players at the conclusion of the event.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Pakistan volleyball team for the victory, He commended the team’s talent and teamwork displayed throughout the tournament.

Taking to his official social media platform, Shehbaz expressed his happiness at Pakistan volleyball team’s success in clinching the CAVA Nation’s Volleyball League champion title.
