Pakistan Street Child football team advances to qauarterfinals


OSLO: The Pakistan Street Child football team has secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the Norway Cup with a 3-1 win over Norway’s Asterdam Club.

The match-defining goal came in the final seconds of the match, sealing the victory for the Pakistani team.

The match saw the national team take an early lead with a goal in the first half. In the second half, the team added two more goals to their tally. Obaidullah, Muhammad Kashif, and Muhammad Isa each scored one goal, contributing to the team’s successful performance.

This victory follows the team’s consistent performance in the tournament. The Pakistan Street Child football team previously qualified for the playoffs after winning three consecutive matches.

They began the Norway Cup with a strong start, defeating Norwegian club Astor Footballklubb 6-1 and Vardenest BK 5-0 in their first two games. Their third win came against Oystese Club with a 3-1 scoreline.

The Norway Cup is held annually in Oslo, Norway. It is an international youth football tournament. The event will run from July 27 till August 3, with the quarterfinals set to begin soon.

The Pakistan team has a history of strong performances in international youth football tournaments. They were runners-up in the 2022 Street Child World Cup in Qatar and also finished as runners-up in the 2018 edition in Russia. In the 2014 Street Child World Cup held in Brazil, the team secured a third-place finish.
