Pat Cummins becomes first bowler with 200 wickets

SYDNEY: Australian captain Pat Cummins made history by becoming the first bowler to reach 200 wickets in the ICC World Test Championships.
He achieved the milestone during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy test series against India by dismissing India’s Washington in the second innings.

In the current World Test Championship cycle, Pat Cummins has taken 73 wickets in 17 matches. This includes five 5-wicket hauls.
The Australian captain is ranked second among seamers, with only Jasprit Bumrah having more wickets at 77.
In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Pat Cummins has bowled the most overs in the series, totalling 25 wickets.
Cummins enjoys an illustrious career in first class cricket since his debut in 2011 till date. He has participated in a total of 214 matches across all formats.
Over 272 innings, he has bowled 3,258.5 overs, including 546 maidens and has conceded 12,269 runs while taking 503 wickets.
His best bowling figures in an innings are 6/23, and he has achieved a best match performance 10/62.
The Australian boasts an overall bowling average of 24.39, an economy rate of 3.76 and a strike rate of 38.8, with a fourteen 5-wicket hauls and two 10-wicket hauls to his name.
In test matches, he has played 67 games, bowling an average of 1,269.2 overs and taking over 294 wickets at an impressive average of 22.43,
In one-day internationals (ODIs), Cummins has participated in 90 matches. He has bowled 780.3 overs and taken 143 wickets at an average of 28.78.
His best bowling figures in ODIs in an innings are 5/70, and he has achieved the same figures in a match. His economy rate in ODIs is 5.27, with a strike rate of 32.7 and he has one 5-wicket haul.

Meanwhile, in the Twenty20 internationals (T20Is), the Australian captain has played 57 matches, bowling 209 overs and taking 66 wickets at an average of 23.57.
His best bowling figures in an innings and a match are both, 3/15. He has economy rate of 7.44 and a strike rate of 19.0, but he has not recorded any 5-wicket or 10-wicket hauls in sport’s shortest format.
