WEB DESK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated the Lahore Qalandars for clinching the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 title after a nail-biting final against Quetta Gladiators.
In his message, the PM commended both teams for putting up a spectacular show, saying that all participating franchises displayed exceptional sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
PM Shehbaz also extended his felicitations to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and the board’s management for successfully organising the event.
Qalandars are the new PSL 10 champions
PM Shehbaz also lauded the efforts of national and international players who contributed to making PSL 10 a memorable spectacle for cricket fans. Owing to the rising escalations on the Pakistan-India border, PSL was set to be moved to Dubai but the ceasefire on May 10 ensured that the remaining matches were played in Pakistan and that the national event was not postponed.
Lahore Qalandars had overhauled a target of 202 set by Quetta Gladiators as they won the final by six wickets to clinch the title for the third time. At the end, Kusal Parera proved to be the difference between the two sides, as he help the Qalandars crossed the line with 62 runs of 31 balls. However, he was ably assisted by Sikandar Raza – another foreign player – who hit 22 of just seven balls. The Lahore-born Zimbabwe cricketer also hit the winning runs.
Qalandars successfully chased down the target in a high-octane clash, marking another thrilling chapter in PSL history.
