WEB DESK: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Governing Council, led by Chairman Zaka Ashraf of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, is set to convene today at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to finalise the venue for the upcoming PSL 9 season, scheduled from February to March.

A proposal advocating for the initiation of matches overseas gains momentum, attributing it to the upcoming general elections in Pakistan. South Africa and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are emerging as potential venues.

While a majority of franchises express a preference for hosting the entire PSL 9 event in Pakistan, the meeting’s discussions will delve into financial considerations and other pertinent matters.

Representatives from all six franchises will be present at the meeting, with the objective of reaching a consensus on the optimal approach for the league in light of the evolving circumstances.
