Traffic plan prepared for PSL-9 matches in Lahore

LAHORE: Lahore police has prepared a traffic plan during the matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL-9) starting from Saturday (Feb 17).

In order to ensure traffic flow during the matches, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Amara Athar said that four Superintendents of Police (SPs), 12 District Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and 90 inspectors will perform duties.

Amara Athar stated that more than 900 wardens will be deployed at Gaddafi Stadium. While teams’ routes and alternative routes, 20 forklifts, five breakdowns will also be deployed to eliminate illegal parking.

For the convenience of cricket fans and easy access to the stadium, three parking stands will be allocated. City traffic police will welcome cricket fans in a traditional manner. Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard Road and Gulberg will remain operational for traffic.

CTO Lahore Amara Athar further said that mostly no roads will be closed for traffic during the match, while certain roads will be closed for some time during the movement of the team.

Three parking stands have also been allocated for the convenience of cricket fans and easy access to the stadium.

According to CTO Lahore, citizens will be kept informed about the traffic situation through Rasta App and Rasta FM 88.6, people will be able to call helpline 15 for further guidance and assistance.

The first match of the PSL-9 will begin on February 17 from Lahore with a match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United.

The matches of PSL-9 will be played in four cities including Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi and the final of the event will be held on March 18 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
