LAHORE: Today’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between the Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi is under question due to the current domestic and security situation, sources claimed on Thursday.
A meeting was held at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) headquarters with franchise owners in attendance, discussing the remaining matches of the PSL, as well as the upcoming series against Bangladesh, according to sources. Multiple options are reportedly being considered.
One reported suggestion is to reschedule todays match between the Kings and Zalmi. The option of shifting the remaining PSL matches to Karachi is also reportedly being considered.
Geo Super has reported that Dubai and Doha are being considered as potential venues as well.
There are four remaining matches in the PSL’s regular season, which were all set to be held in Rawalpindi. The first qualifier was also set to be held in Rawalpindi, while the remaining three playoff games are all scheduled to be played in Lahore at Gaddafi Stadium.
The upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh is also under question. The series was set to kick off on May 25 at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, which would have marked the first time in 17 years that the city hosted international cricket.
