Nadia, sharing her journey toward healing on the microblogging platform, described the long and challenging path she undertook, including dealing with “agonising pain” and “hiding from situations and people” while enduring profound unhappiness.
She emphasised the importance of self-respect, self-protection, and self-love, stating, “I am responsible for taking care of the child within me & I am responsible for every other child whose healing I can somehow facilitate.”

As a survivor of sexual abuse, Nadia stressed the significance of acknowledging the feelings that individuals experience while coming to terms with their traumatic past. She highlighted that every child, including the child within adults, matters greatly, and healing is possible.
It’s taken a long time getting here, but Alhamdolillah I am truly blessed, & can say with my head high, I am a survivor, who learned how to become a blessed thriver. I walked through agonising pain, zero self esteem, constantly out sourcing my happiness, & hiding from situations… pic.twitter.com/aIipNe03qN

Meanwhile, she encouraged individuals to face their fears at their own pace, feel sadness, and acknowledge their fears while stressing the importance of ‘breathing’.
She also expressed her gratitude to Emma-Jane Taylor, the founder of the #notmyshame campaign against CSA, for helping her find her “beautiful tribes.” She called on others not to shame the victims but to hold their abusers accountable.
In a powerful call to action, Nadia urged Pakistan and the global community to unite in saying that shame belongs solely to rapists. She advocated for facilitating healing and creating a world where every CSA survivor becomes a thriver.
