LONDON: The International Cricket Council has announced a tentative schedule for the ICC Men’s T20I World Cup 2026, which will take place from February 7 to March 8 next year.
This edition of the tournament will feature 20 international teams and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Colombo will host matches at two venues, while India will use five different grounds for the tournament. The final match is likely to be held in Sri Lanka, though this is contingent on Pakistan’s progression to the final.
The tournament marks a return of T20 World Cup hosting duties for both nations after a long gap, India last hosted the event in 2016, while Sri Lanka last hosted in 2012.

Due to ongoing tensions, India and Pakistan have agreed to play their matches on neutral venues for the next three years, following an aerial incident between the two nations earlier in May. This has also led to BCCI’s refusal to participate in the Pakistan-hosted ICC Champions Trophy, which would have marked first mega cricket event ever played in Pakistan since the 1996 World Cup.
