Security lapse at Gaddafi Stadium as fan enters Pakistan’s dressing room

Security lapse Gaddafi Stadium

ISLAMABAD: A teenage cricket fan managed to climb up to the Pakistan team’s dressing room as no security guards were nearby when Pakistan was closing in on victory in the first Test of the White-ball Series against South Africa in Lahore.

The boy, wearing a black T-shirt, appeared overjoyed as he scaled the barrier toward the dressing room, seemingly hoping to shake hands with national team players — around four to five of whom were visible on camera. However, the moment took an unexpected turn as he continued moving through the chairs, trying for a handshake. The players did not respond, and security officials were immediately alerted, escorting the fan away before any interaction took place.

The incident occurred while many other spectators in the stands chanted “Babar! Babar!” in admiration of skipper Babar Azam and his teammates. Security personnel following the breach quickly removed the fan from the area.
