Setback for India: main batsman won’t play against Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: In a disappointing turn of events for the Indian cricket team, KL Rahul, one of their prominent batters, has been ruled out of the initial two matches of the Asia Cup.

The setback occurred even before the commencement of the Asia Cup, dealing a blow to the Indian squad.

Practically, Rahul won’t be able to play two matches against arch-rival Pakistan in Asia Cup.

Rahul along with other players from the Indian team had been participating in conditioning camps but he was unable to demonstrate the required fitness level, falling short by a significant margin.

Reports from the Indian media indicate that KL Rahul will now accompany the team to Sri Lanka for their upcoming matches.

The first match of the Asia Cup is scheduled between Pakistan and Nepal, followed by a face-off between Pakistan and India on September 2nd.

However, the meteorological department has predicted rain on September 2.

The second match of the Asia Cup is slated to be held in Lahore on September 3, followed by subsequent matches on September 5 and September 6.
