LAHORE: Former Pakistan T20 cricket team captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has taken to Instagram to share a cryptic but meaningful story, stirring up curiosity and amusement among cricket enthusiasts.
The charismatic cricketer, known for his fiery bowling spells, shared a video on his Instagram story with a lion roaming the wilderness with these words appearing on top, “Never ever put me in a position where I have to show you how cruel and ruthless I can be.”

The story further elaborated, warning, “Don’t test my patience; because I might be the kindest and sweetest person you have ever met; but once I reach my limit, you will see me do the things that no one thought I was capable of doing.”
While the message seemed enigmatic at first glance, it didn’t escape the attention of fans and pundits alike. Speculation immediately ensued, with many interpreting the post as a subtle nod towards the recent leadership shuffle within the Pakistani cricket team.
The light-hearted banter and conjecture surrounding Afridi’s Instagram story hint at potential differences brewing within the Pakistani cricket fraternity, possibly stemming from the recent change in team leadership orchestrated by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Earlier, former head coach Misbah-ul-Haq weighed in on the matter, acknowledging the decision to remove Babar Azam as captain may have been wrong, but now removing Shaheen Afridi wasn’t necessarily the right move either.

Last week, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi caused ripples in the cricketing world by stripping Afridi of the captaincy and passing the baton to Babar Azam. Shaheen Afridi was appointed as T20 captain last November after Babar Azam announced retirement from captaincy in all formats.
