Shaheen Shah may lose captaincy before T20 World Cup

LAHORE: Shaheen Shah Afridi’s captaincy might be in jeopardy ahead of the T20 World Cup, as media reports suggest that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi has received advice regarding a potential change in leadership.

The decision to consider a change in captaincy stems from Shaheen’s disappointing performance as the captain of the team in the ninth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where the team finished at the bottom of the points table under his leadership.

Should Shaheen be replaced, there is a strong likelihood that Mohammad Rizwan will be chosen for the position. However, former skipper Babar Azam is also among the contenders.
