WEB DESK: Shara Magomedov had his unbeaten streak come to an end at the UFC Fight Night 250, where he faced Michael Page in the co-main event in Saudi Arabia.

Despite being favoured and younger than his opponent, the flashy, quick-to-anger Magomedov found himself outmatched by Page, who typically competes in the welterweight division.
UFC President Dana White acknowledged the difficulties of facing Page, a counter-striker known for his tactical approach. “You need to be aggressive against Page, but it’s a tricky situation because he waits for you to make a move”, White stated.
Following the bout, Magomedoc addressed his performance on social media, citing a ‘health issue’ that impacted his ability to compete properly.
In a subsequent interview, Shara Magomedov revealed he has been suffering from severe intestinal problems on the night of the fight. “I have never felt this unwell in the octagon”.
The Russian explained that he dealt with dysbacteriosis and parasitosis, which severely affected his stamina during the match.
Speculation arose that medical professionals in the UAE had recommended Magomadov consider retirement after his defeat. However, how coach, Gor Azizyan, refuted the allegations, indicating that the Russia MMA fighter was currently in Makkah for umrah and would return to Russia for further medical evaluation.
Azizyan confirmed that Magomedov remained in the running for future matches.
The loss sparked huge debates within the MMA community about the Russian’s future, particularly given his unique situation as a fighter with one eye.
While he may encounter obstacles in securing fights in the United States due to regulatory restrictions, Magomedov’s popularity and previous ranking within the top fifteen of the middleweight division suggests that he could still carve out a successful career.
