Spanish football chief Luis Rubiales resigns after kiss scandal


MADRID: Luis Rubiales, the chief of the Spanish Football Federation, has stepped down from his position amidst significant backlash for an incident where he kissed Jenni Hermoso on the lips during the Women’s World Cup victory ceremony. The controversy surrounding this action led to his resignation.

Last week, a Spanish prosecutor lodged a formal complaint with the High Court against Rubiales, alleging sexual assault and coercion related to his kiss on Jenni Hermoso’s lips.
