CHATTOGRAM: South Africa lost their second wicket as Bangladesh dismissed Tristan Stubbs, right after he made his maiden century on Tuesday.
Taijul Islam picked up his first wicket after dismissing South Africa skipper Aiden Markram earlier in the day after he was caught out by Mominul Haque. However, the true breakthrough for Bangladesh came in the 74th over, as Islam bowled Tristan Stubbs, who had celebrated his maiden century the over prior. The low delivery nicked the toe-end of Stubbs’ bat before colliding with the stumps.
Despite the dismissal, it was great performance for Stubbs, who made 106 runs off 198 deliveries, hitting six fours and three sixes before his dismissal. He was part of a 201-run partnership with Tony de Zorzi. David Bedingham came on to the field next to begin his own partnership with de Zorzi, who made his own maiden test century earlier in the day. De Zorzi currently stands at 126 runs off 198 deliveires.
South Africa have made 283 runs from 76 overs, losing two wickets in the process.
