T20 World Cup: Netherlands beat Nepal, Scotland-England rained out


GRAND PRAIRIE: In the seventh match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, the Netherlands defeated Nepal with a six-wicket victory on Tuesday.

Max O’Dowd score of 54 runs off 48 balls guided his team to chase down the target by the 19th over.

Despite efforts effort from the Nepalese bowlers, particularly Sompal Kami, Abinash Bohara, and Dipendra Singh Airee, O’Dowd held firm at one end, ensuring his team’s victory. Vikramjit Singh also contributed 22 runs off 28 balls.

Earlier in the match, the Dutch bowlers dominated the Nepalese team completely. Logan van Beek took three wickets, while Tim Pringle claimed three wickets as well. Their combined effort restricted Nepalese batters. However, Rohit Paudel was able to score 35 runs and while Karan KC scored 17 runs.

In the Scotland versus England match held on Tuesday as well, rain led to cancellation.

Scotland set a 109-run target for England, but weather restricted the game to 10 overs per side. Michael Jones and George Muncy stood out for Scotland with scores of 45 and 41 respectively.

Both teams were awarded one point each due to the cancellation.
