MULTAN: England’s Matthew Potts ended the biggest partnership of the second test against Pakistan just before the tea break on Monday, after dismissing Saim Ayub.
A 149-run partnership was made between Saim Ayub and Kamran Ghulam before Matthew Potts took down the former. The 25-year-old has bowled two maiden overs out of a total of nine, conceding 22 runs in the process.
It was the end of what was a great innings from the Pakistani batsman, scoring 77 runs off 160 balls. Unfortunately, his innings came to an end before he could make a century, after he popped the ball straight to short mid-off, allowing England skipper Ben Stokes to take the catch.
It was the fifth ever test match for the 22-year old opener and his largest innings total yet.
Debutant Kamran Ghulam is still standing strong, having made 75 runs off 145 deliveries, inching closer to his first century with the national side. He has hit five fours and the only six of the game in the process.
Pakistan stands at 173 runs for 3 at the tea brakafter 57 overs.
