LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) comes to an end tomorrow, May 25, as the Quetta Gladiators face the Lahore Qalandars in the finals.
The Gladiators will be looking for their second title, winning their first in 2019 after finishing as the runner-up in 2016 and 2017. A victory over the Qalandars would tie them with Lahore for the franchise with the second most titles with two.
Islamabad United still hold the top spot, being the only franchise with three tournament wins in 2016, 2018, and 2024. However, if Lahore pulls off the upset, beating Quetta who are on a seven-match winning streak, they will be tied with Islamabad, having won their first two titles in 2022 and 2023.

The two teams have only played one full match against each other on April 13, which the Qalandars dominated thanks to an incredible bowling offensive that dismantled Quetta’s top order early, before dismissing the rest of their batting line-up within 17 overs. The Qalandars won that first meeting by 79 runs.
The second meeting between the two teams was scheduled for May 1, however that match was called off after only 11.3 overs into Lahore’s innings due to a dust storm and heavy rain. The match was looking favourable for the Qalandars, as they ad already made 111 runs thanks to a 102 run second wicket stand between Abdullah Shafique and Mohammad Naeem.
While Quetta has all the momentum heading into the third meeting against Lahore, the Qalandars will be confident in their own abilities, knowing they have beaten the Gladiators before, and that they could do it again.
The match takes place at 7:30 PM, May 25.
