Babar achieved the coveted record during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. Captaining the team, Babar contributed 72 runs to Zalmi’s total, setting a target of 155 runs for the opposing team.

Babar’s record places him ahead of cricketing giants including Chris Gayle and Indian legend Virat Kohli. He joined the much-coveted 10,000-club with the likes of Australian opener David Warner and fellow Pakistani Shoaib Malik.

Virat Kohli attained the milestone in 299 innings, while Warner reached it in 303 innings.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Malik was the first Pakistani to score 10,000 runs in T20 in October 2020.
