World Championship of Legends: Points table after Pakistan defeated England

BIRMINGHAM: Pakistan defeated England during the World Championship of Legends 2024 with a 79-run victory over England at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham on Monday.
Electing to field first after winning the toss, England faced a target of 195 runs set by Pakistan.

The legends team scored 194 runs at a loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs.
Pakistan’s innings featured Sharjeel Khan providing a brisk start with 35 runs and Sohaib Maqsood adding a steady 22. However, the standout performances came from Shoaib Malik, who smashed a half-century. Aamer Yamin also scored 29 runs off just 11 balls.
When it was England’s turn to bat, the English batting lineup struggled against Pakistan’s bowling attack. While Phil Mustard scored an impressive 84 off 35 balls, English batters soon fell like house of cards.
Kevin Pietersen smashed a quickfire 28, however Sohail Tanvir was the knight that brought down the English batting castle wall. He took four wickets, while Shahid Afridi took three.
Meanwhile, Wahab Riaz clinched two wickets as England was bowled out for 117 runs in 15.4 overs.
With this victory, Pakistan solidified their position at the top of the points table in the World Championship of Legends 2024. They remain undefeated, having previously defeated the formidable Australia, India, West Indies, and now England.
Pakistan leads with 8 points and an impressive net run rate (NRR) of +0.856. England maintains the second-place position with 4 points and an NRR of +2.005, despite their loss to Pakistan.

India holds the third spot with 2 points and an NRR of 0.487, while Australia is fourth with 0 points after losing their sole match. Both West Indies and South Africa are at the bottom of the table with 0 points each, having suffered defeats in their respective matches.
