TRENT BRIDGE: Zimbabwe were reduced to 141-3 at lunch on day three of the one-off test against England at Trent Bridge after Shoaib Bashir broke the deadlock for the hosts late in the first session on Saturday, with the visitors trailing by 159 after following on.
Resuming on 30-2 in their second innings, the touring side rode Sean Williams’s 88 off 82 balls before their former captain was trapped lbw by Bashir, with batter Ben Curran offering support with an unbeaten 36 runs.

It was Williams’s sixth test half-century and he notched up his fifty with a superb drive down the ground.
England bowlers Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue, who had respectively dismissed Brian Bennett and Craig Ervine on Friday, were unable to make a dent in the 122-run partnership between Williams and Curran before Bashir got his 50th test wicket.
Zimbabwe asked for a review of decision but it was given in England’s favour as the ball had been set to clip the top of leg stump.
