Of particular note, Amir Tanban had recently been released from Kot Lakhpat Jail. While the law enforcement agencies are investigating the motive behind the attack, it is of note that Tamba is one of the accused in the 2013 fatal attack on Indian death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Kot Lakhpat jail.
