Apple fans hit back after Samsung mocks iPhone 16 series

Samsung mocks Apple iPhone 16

ISLAMABAD: The recently launched iPhone 16 has sparked widespread discussion on social media platforms, with Apple fans defending the tech giant’s latest release amidst criticism, particularly from Samsung users.

As expected, the much-anticipated flagship model from the Cupertino-based company has divided opinions.

Samsung, known for its lead in the foldable and flip phone market, wasted no time in mocking Apple. A post from Samsung’s official account on X (formerly Twitter), titled “Still waiting,” was widely seen as a jab at Apple for not introducing a foldable iPhone.

This set off a debate online, with many Android users criticising the iPhone 16 for lacking significant innovation compared to its predecessors.

Some users poked fun at the iPhone 16, claiming that it looks nearly identical to the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Others joked about the iPhone’s battery life, sarcastically saying, “Another iPhone that needs charging after sending some Snapchat streaks.”

However, Apple fans were quick to come to its defence. Many praised the iPhone 16’s camera quality, with one user commenting, “At least Apple knows how to make cameras.” Others ridiculed foldable phones, calling them a “gimmick,” while some criticised Samsung’s camera quality, remarking, “We buy Apple because it doesn’t take cartoon-like images.”

Supporters also highlighted Apple’s smooth user interface, with one fan noting, “Apple has its own class – we love it for its super responsive UI and non-laggy performance, unlike Android.”

As the debate rages on, opinions remain divided. Some hail the iPhone 16 for its premium feel and performance, while others view it as just another incremental upgrade.

In Pakistan, the iPhone 16 series is likely to remain a luxury item, with the expected price set to soar to Rs1 million or higher in its first week after its release.

Due to the absence of an official Apple store in the country, shopkeepers sell imported iPhones at unregulated prices, often making significant profits. This means those eager to get their hands on the new iPhone may face unpredictable pricing during its early availability.
