WEB DESK: Samsung is preparing to launch its latest addition to the Galaxy Quantum series, the Galaxy Quantum 5, in South Korea later this year.

This new model, expected to debut in the third quarter of 2024, will be an upgraded version of the Galaxy A55, incorporating advanced security features and improved performance.

The Galaxy Quantum 5 will be equipped with a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) security chip, a hallmark of the Galaxy Quantum series.

This sophisticated chip utilises photon emission to generate truly random data for cryptographic keys, significantly enhancing security for sensitive applications such as banking and payment services.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Quantum 5 boasts a 6.6-inch Super AMOLED Infinity O display, powered by the Exynos 1480 processor. It will feature 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, a 32MP front-facing camera, and a substantial 5,000mAh battery. The device will run on Android 14 right out of the box.

The new model retains the same dimensions and weight as its predecessor, measuring 161.1 × 77.4 × 8.2mm and weighing 213 grams. The Galaxy Quantum 5 has already received radio certification as of May 8, 2024, and is anticipated to launch in August or September.

With its enhanced security features and robust hardware, the Galaxy Quantum 5 is poised to offer both powerful performance and cutting-edge protection, continuing Samsung’s tradition of delivering secure and reliable devices.
