ISLAMABAD: Google has expanded access to its AI video tool, Veo 3, allowing users in Pakistan and more than 150 other countries to turn photos into short videos with sound.
The price of using Google’s latest AI video generation tool in Pakistan is Rs5,600 per month, but first-time users can access it free for 30 days, provided they have not used their AI credits.
In a statement on Friday, the company said users can now create eight-second video clips by uploading a photo and describing the scene and audio they want. The tool is available through Gemini, Google’s AI assistant that combines search, content creation, and image generation.
“This new feature lets people bring their favourite photos to life as short videos,” Google said.
The launch comes as more people worldwide turn to creative AI tools. In Pakistan, where digital content creation is growing fast, the move is expected to boost short-form storytelling and innovation.
To use the feature, users select “Videos” in Gemini, upload a photo, and type a short prompt. The system then creates a video that can be downloaded or shared.
Google’s filmmaking tool, Flow, also includes Veo 3 and now supports speech, sound effects, and background music.
To promote safe use, Google said all AI-made videos include a visible watermark and an invisible SynthID digital tag to show they are AI-generated.
