The release was officially announced during the company’s second-quarter financial report, putting to rest months of intense speculation about a possible delay.

The excitement around GTA 6 skyrocketed after the release of its first trailer in December 2023. It racked up over 100 million views in just 48 hours.

The staggering number of views in first two days of the trailer release eclipsed the total views of the original GTA 5 trailer.

Take-Two announced the release window for GTA 6 in fall 2025 earlier this year. This aligns with the launch of GTA 5, which hit the markets in September 2013.

During an interview with “CNBC”, Take-Two CEO discussed the complexities of setting release dates, especially for highly awaited game such as GTA.

The company’s CEO revealed the immense pressure on the developers to deliver on expectations set by previous installments in the franchise.

The company’s financial report also highlighted the impressive sales of its previous titles, with GTA 5 selling 205 million copies across all platforms and Red Dead Redemption 2 reaching 67 million.

The company also announced other awaited titles, “Borderlands 4” and “Mafia: The Old Country”, set for release in 2026.
