WEB DESK: Apple is introducing a handy new feature in iOS 18 that will allow users to pause videos during recording. Interestingly the iPhone 16 will be Apple’s first phone that will come factory-installed with this long-awaited feature.
This means you can capture different clips within a single video, eliminating the need to start and stop multiple recordings.
When you begin recording a video in iOS 18, a pause button will appear on the left side of the screen. Pressing it will pause the recording, and pressing it again will resume. You can still end the video at any time using the stop button in the middle.
This new feature was included in the iOS 18 release candidate, which is now available to developers and public beta testers. The pause functionality is expected to be part of the Camera Control button on all iPhone 16 models.
Apple plans to officially release iOS 18 on Monday, September 16, with the iPhone 16 models arriving shortly after, on Friday, September 20.
