WEB DESK: Apple is reportedly introducing a new design element for its upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models, according to recent leaks.
Instead of the brushed titanium finish seen in the iPhone 15 Pro, the latest leaks suggest a shift towards a “more polished material” for the frame.
In the previous iteration, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max saw a departure from the traditional stainless steel frame to a lighter titanium one, offering advantages such as increased resistance to fingerprints and reduced visibility of scratches.
However, feedback on the aesthetic of the brushed titanium finish has been mixed, with some expressing a preference for the sleek look of polished stainless steel.
While discussions on platforms like Reddit have explored the possibility of manually polishing the titanium frame to achieve a glossier appearance akin to previous models, this approach is generally discouraged due to potential risks.
Nevertheless, there have been isolated successes reported, notably with the titanium Series 7 Apple Watch.
Rumours surrounding the iPhone 16 Pro now suggest a return to a more polished finish, with improvements in titanium processing and colour treatment cited as potential factors.
Although these claims are yet to be confirmed by Apple, the possibility of a refined and glossier material for the upcoming models is generating interest among enthusiasts and consumers alike.
