WEB DESK: Production of displays for the upcoming iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models is set to begin in June, according to noted display analyst Ross Young.
In a tweet shared with his subscribers, Young revealed that panel production will kick off next month, with the smaller-sized iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro expected to see the highest volume production.
Apple’s suppliers will manufacture these displays and subsequently dispatch them to the assembly factories. These factories will then start assembling the final iPhone 16 models.
The new lineup, which includes the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, is anticipated to launch in September, adhering to Apple’s traditional release schedule. The designs of these new models will closely resemble the iPhone 15 series, but with notable size increases for the Pro variants.
The iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch display, up from the previous 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max will boast a 6.9-inch display, an increase from 6.7 inches. The standard iPhone 16 will maintain its 6.1-inch display, and the iPhone 16 Plus will continue to offer a 6.7-inch screen.
In addition to the size changes, the iPhone 16 lineup is rumored to include several new features. These include a “Capture” button designed for taking images and videos in landscape mode, faster A-series chips, camera enhancements, and advanced connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 7 and faster 5G modems for select models.
