iPhone 17 Pro Max price may start from over Rs565,000 in Pakistan 

LAHORE: Apple’s next big thing is still a few months away, but the rumour mill around the iPhone 17 series is already in full swing. Leakers, tech bloggers and render artists are converging on what may be one of the most notable design updates in years, with most of the buzz focused on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. 

The lineup is expected to include four models: the iPhone 17, 17 Air, and the two high-end variants, Pro and Pro Max. For anyone wondering whether it’s worth upgrading from the iPhone 16, it depends on how much trust you place in early leaks and how much you’re willing to pay. 

The price of the upcoming Factory Unlocked iPhone 17 Pro Max in Pakistan may once again shock Apple fans, as it is expected to be super expensive during the initial weeks of its launch. 

According to Apple Hub and other reliable sources, the iPhone 17 Pro Max may introduce a “completely revamped” design. That includes a sharper, more prominent camera bump, a shift from titanium to aluminium, and subtle changes to the frame’s shape.

These claims have been echoed by other well-known voices in the tech world, including Unbox Therapy and MacRumors, who call the redesign one of the most drastic Apple has done in recent years. 

Inside the iPhone 17 Pro Max

Under the hood, early reports suggest Apple will equip the Pro Max with a 6.9-inch OLED display and 120Hz ProMotion refresh rate, alongside the upcoming A19 Pro chip and Wi-Fi 7 developed in-house. A bigger battery, new vapour-chamber cooling system, and up to 12GB of RAM are also reportedly in the pipeline. 

Camera-wise, Apple may add a 48MP telephoto lens and a 24MP front camera. Some leaks even hint at simultaneous front-and-rear video recording and 8K video support. A possible mechanical variable aperture and a smaller Dynamic Island are also in discussion, though not confirmed. 

As for design tweaks, a new “Sky Blue” colour is making the rounds online, along with the continuation of the so-called “camera button” that Apple tested on the iPhone 16 series. This suggests Apple may be doubling down on turning the iPhone into more of a pro-level camera device. 

iPhone 17 Pro Max price

In terms of pricing, US customers might see the iPhone 17 Pro Max starting from $1,199, though tariffs and international production shifts could push that number closer to $2,000, according to Tom’s Guide. In Pakistan, early estimates for PTA-approved and Factory Unlocked models put the iPhone 17 base model at around Rs400,000, with the Air variant reaching Rs435,000 and the Pro Max going as high as Rs565,000. 

With no official Apple Store in Pakistan, the first wave of iPhones typically comes through importers like Mercantile and GNext. These vendors get the iPhones PTA approved and then mark them up significantly, at least until wider availability causes prices to level off. 

Still, everything remains speculative until Apple makes things official. The company is expected to unveil the iPhone 17 series sometime in early to mid-September, likely during an event held between the 9th and 11th, with pre-orders shortly after. Until then, it’s worth watching how these leaks develop and deciding whether this is the iPhone upgrade worth waiting for.
