iOS 18 may not work on these iPhones

WEB DESK: Apple is gearing up to launch its latest operating system in June, featuring enhanced artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
However, not all iPhone models will be compatible with this upcoming iOS release, as reported by Daily Mail.
According to reports, iPhones manufactured before 2018, including models from the SE series and the 8 Plus or earlier, will not be eligible for the iOS upgrade.
This limitation is attributed to the outdated hardware components present in these older models, such as slower processors and less RAM, which are unable to support the advanced features of iOS 18.
iOS 18, touted as Apple’s most significant upgrade yet, is expected to introduce substantial language models and other AI technologies.
The update was initially introduced alongside the unveiling of the iPhone XR and iPhone XS models in 2018, requiring smart devices to be equipped with an A12 Bionic chip to run effectively.
Due to the slower processors of the A11 Bionic chip (found in iPhone X, 8, and 8 Plus) and the A10 Fusion chip (found in iPhone 7 and 7 Plus), these older models will not be able to support the iOS 18 update as efficiently.
While Apple typically discontinues support for older iPhone models with the release of new iOS versions, it has chosen to retain compatibility with the iPhone seven and eight series this year.
If your iPhone is not a series 11 through 15 model, or the second and third generation SE, XR, XS, or XS Max, you can expect to lose access to iOS 18 and all subsequent software updates.
