The Meta-owned instant messaging app is set to introduce a new feature aimed at making WhatsApp chat list management simpler and easier for all users.
According to WABetaInfo, currently, some beta testers using Android version 2.24.25.8 can experience this update, as only this version is compatible with the new feature. However, the update will be available to all users soon after passing through public testing.

The previously updated interface showed three preset filters at the top for chat list management: ‘Unread,’ ‘Favorites,’ and ‘Groups.’ It also featured a ‘+’ button, giving users the freedom to create custom lists.
On the other hand, the redesigned interface displays filters such as ‘Favorites’ and ‘Various Conversations,’ along with a shortcut to create new filters.
WABetaInfo also reported that additional similar buttons are now present next to deleted preset filters, allowing users to restore them effortlessly.
The newly updated interface is very user-friendly because it makes essential features easily accessible to users. Users tired of mass chats will hopefully breathe a sigh of relief as the update is set to revamp the WhatsApp interface, making it easier to manage chat lists.

The new update for chat list management will be available on the Google Play Store for all users in the coming days.

It’s important to note that WhatsApp updates always generate discussions on social media, with users giving mixed reactions. Some welcome the updates, while others find them frustrating. Some even say they cause anxiety, as in the case of an update that replaced the ‘typing…’ indicator with a new animated speech bubble.
Although subtle, this shift prompted negative responses from many users who viewed it as bothersome. One social media user wrote that the animation “purposely gives me anxiety,” while another described it as “annoying” and “unhelpful.”
Despite the backlash, WhatsApp made the update available to users.
