ISLAMABAD: In an era of ever-growing phone screens and triple-camera bumps, vivo’s latest launch, the X200 FE, is a rare and surprisingly bold move. Aimed squarely at users who still prefer one-handed devices but don’t want to sacrifice flagship performance, the X200 FE is being positioned as the brand’s first compact telephoto flagship in its X series.
With a headline feature of 100x ZEISS Telephoto Zoom, a slick and colourful design, and flagship-grade internals, vivo is clearly trying to prove that size doesn’t always dictate power.
Let’s get one thing out of the way: Rs219,999 is a serious price tag. Especially in Pakistan’s smartphone market, which sees plenty of big players releasing competitively priced options once you cross the Rs150,000 mark. That said, vivo is betting that its new device, packed with top-shelf hardware and photography smarts, will win over enthusiasts who crave portability without compromise.
At the heart of the X200 FE’s camera setup is a 50MP main sensor, supported by an 8MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto lens that brings ZEISS optics and AI telephoto enhancements into a compact form. That 100x zoom? It’s not just marketing fluff. Combined with the Sony IMX882 Ultra-Sensitive Sensor, vivo promises crisp detail and clarity, even from a distance.

There’s also a new feature called Stage Mode, built for capturing energetic scenes like concerts and live performances with boosted realism. For anyone who enjoys zoom-heavy shots, whether snapping architecture, portraits or even moon shots, the X200 FE is aiming to make an impression.
Powering all this is MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ chipset, built on a 4nm process. It’s paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a generous 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. vivo’s software trickery adds another 12GB of expandable RAM, for those who love keeping 20 apps running in the background. You’re looking at a serious performance package, whether you’re gaming, multitasking, or simply doom-scrolling.
Battery life also looks promising on paper. The X200 FE carries a 6500mAh cell with 90W fast charging, which vivo says should deliver all-day use and then some. The brand continues with its single-cell battery design, something not very common in compact smartphones, hinting at its focus on longevity and reliability.
One of the major highlights of the X200 FE is its display. It sports a 6.31-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2640 x 1216, LTPO adaptive refresh rate (up to 120Hz), and a staggering 5000 nits peak brightness. That’s bright enough to burn through any harsh daylight. The panel supports P3 wide colour gamut, and it feels tuned for vibrant, punchy visuals. It also helps that the device weighs just 186g and is under 8mm thick, making it genuinely pocketable, a rarity among 2025 flagships.

In terms of build, the phone features a glass back and an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. vivo hasn’t cut corners here either. You still get Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, dual SIM with 5G, USB-C, infrared blaster, NFC, and a full suite of location and motion sensors. Even the box includes a protective case, film, charger, and cable, which is increasingly rare as brands try to cut costs.
For selfie lovers, the 50MP front camera (f/2.0) is another bonus, promising high-res snaps and crisp video. Video recording is supported in MP4, while playback handles most common formats like MP4, MKV, and even FLV. The X200 FE clearly aims to be a content creator’s sidekick.
But here’s the thing, vivo has a challenge on its hands. The premium smartphone segment in Pakistan is dominated by the likes of Samsung, Apple, and now even Xiaomi and OnePlus, all offering solid devices around or under this price bracket. At Rs219,999, consumers will expect more than just flashy zoom and vivid colours. The brand loyalty of vivo in the ultra-premium space is still developing, and how the X200 FE performs in sales will likely determine its future in that segment.
Still, the vivo X200 FE feels like a genuine attempt to shift the narrative, that compact phones are somehow less powerful. With its camera system, high-end performance, and sleek form factor, it might just appeal to those who’ve been quietly waiting for a phone that doesn’t feel like a small tablet.
Whether that’s enough to justify the hefty price tag? That’s the real zoom test.
