The collaboration aims to expand Opera’s AI capabilities beyond its existing support for OpenAI’s language models.

Previously, Opera users had access to various language models like Llama from Meta. Now, they can also utilise Google’s Gemini AI model launched last year.

Opera users will also gain access to two new AI features: text-to-speech conversion and text-to-image generation.

While Opera may be incorporated Gemini, it still supports other AI models like Llama from Meta and Imagen 2 for text-to-image generation.

Gemini integration into Opera was facilitated through the Aria AI assistant within Opera browsers. Aria will serve as a gateway to Gemini and allow users to perform tasks such as answering queries and searching the web.
