According to media reports, this sophisticated satellite, developed by Pakistani scientists and engineers, represents a major milestone in enhancing internet connectivity nationwide.

The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) has spearheaded this ambitious project with the goal of delivering reliable internet services throughout Pakistan. The launch of Paksat MM1 is anticipated to play a pivotal role in achieving this vision, thereby boosting the country’s digital infrastructure.

Paksat MM1 is engineered to vastly improve communication capabilities, ensuring extensive internet coverage. This development is especially vital for remote and underserved areas, where internet access has been limited or entirely lacking.

By addressing this digital gap, Suparco aims to promote greater socio-economic development and digital inclusion.

Earlier this month, on May 11, Pakistan announced its plans to launch the new satellite, following the successful deployment of the iCube Qamar satellite. According to a Suparco spokesperson, the Paksat MM1 is scheduled for launch on May 30, with the operation set to take place from Islamabad. – INP
