Xiaomi launches Redmi 15 in Pakistan ahead of Note 15 series

Redmi 15 launch in Pakistan - price and specifications

ISLAMABAD: Xiaomi has quietly launched the Redmi 15 in Pakistan, bringing a new mid-range device to the market just weeks before the highly anticipated arrival of the Redmi Note 15 and Note 15 Pro.

The phone has now been listed on Mistore Pakistan’s official website at Rs46,000 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, making it an option for buyers who want a budget-friendly daily driver before the flagship Note series arrives.

While many smartphone enthusiasts are waiting to see what the upcoming Redmi Note 15 and Redmi Note 15 Pro will offer, Xiaomi has chosen to fill the gap by introducing the Redmi 15. It comes across as a mid-range choice, and on paper, it may not impress spec lovers, but it does have enough to attract people who want a big battery, a decent display, and a solid set of cameras for everyday use.

What the Redmi 15 brings to the table

The Redmi 15 comes with a large 6.9-inch Full HD+ DotDisplay with a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The display is one of its stronger features, especially for users who stream a lot of videos or spend hours scrolling on social media. Under the hood, the phone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 processor, paired with an octa-core CPU and Adreno GPU.

While this chipset is not exactly new and has been seen in several older phones, it still offers enough power for regular tasks like messaging, social media, and video playback.

The camera setup is simple yet capable. On the back, users get a 50MP main sensor with a 5P lens and f/1.8 aperture, along with an auxiliary lens. The front camera is 8MP and includes portrait mode, HDR, time-lapse, and even a soft-light ring for selfies in low light. For many users, this will be enough to get decent photos for WhatsApp, Instagram, or TikTok without having to spend extra money on a higher-end phone.

One of the highlights of the Redmi 15 is its massive 7000mAh battery, supported by 33W fast charging. This means the phone can last comfortably through heavy daily use, and charging won’t take hours. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, AI face unlock, Dolby Atmos-supported Hi-Res audio, IP64 water and dust resistance, and Xiaomi’s new HyperOS 2 operating system.

A look at Redmi 15C series already in stores

The launch of the Redmi 15 follows closely on the heels of the Redmi 15C series, which was introduced less than a week ago in Pakistan. That lineup includes two budget-friendly variants: the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model priced at Rs34,000 and a 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model priced at Rs32,000.

The Redmi 15C features a slightly less powerful MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor, a 6000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and a 50MP rear camera. Its display is a 6.9-inch Dot Drop screen with a resolution of 1600 x 720 and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

While cheaper, the Redmi 15C clearly targets entry-level buyers, while the Redmi 15 positions itself as a more premium mid-range choice with a bigger battery, higher resolution screen, and a few additional software features.

Where it stands against competition

For buyers who are strictly looking at performance and display technology, the Redmi Note 14 series, which is still available in Pakistan, may feel like a better option because of its AMOLED screen and newer chipset. The Redmi 15, however, gives people an opportunity to save money while still enjoying a feature-packed phone.

For those who prioritise battery life, a large display, and basic camera performance over cutting-edge power, the Redmi 15 could be a solid alternative.

The timing of the launch also suggests Xiaomi wants to keep its mid-range segment alive in Pakistan before the arrival of the more expensive Note 15 series. Although the Snapdragon 685 processor might feel outdated to tech-savvy users, many everyday buyers who primarily use their phones for calls, social media, and streaming will likely find it to be a decent fit for the price.

Why Xiaomi pushed Redmi 15 into Pakistan before Note series

Xiaomi’s decision to release the Redmi 15 before the Redmi Note 15 series shows that the company is targeting multiple price points in the Pakistani market. While it may not be the fastest phone around, its big battery, large screen, and respectable camera setup make it a practical choice for casual users.

For now, the Redmi 15 offers something in between the budget-friendly Redmi 15C and the upcoming Note 15 series, filling an important gap for Xiaomi in Pakistan’s crowded mid-range smartphone market.
