Redmi Note 15 Pro global version may not be as feature-packed as Chinese model

Redmi Note 15 Pro released

WEB DESK: Xiaomi has officially pulled the curtain off its new Redmi Note 15 Pro and Pro+ in China, and they are already shaping up to be the most durable and battery-packed Note phones yet.

But before you get too excited, a firmware leak hints that the global version might not be quite as stacked as the Chinese one.

What’s new

Both the Note 15 Pro and Pro+ share a big 6.83-inch AMOLED display, boasting 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 3200 nits peak brightness, and HDR support across the board. If you’re into mobile gaming, the 480Hz touch sampling (with a crazy 2560Hz instant mode in select games) could be a treat.

Inside, the Note 15 Pro packs MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 Ultra, while the Pro+ debuts the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, making it the first Note device to use Qualcomm’s latest mid-tier chip. The Pro+ also gets an advanced cooling pump, which sounds like something lifted from a gaming rig.

Battery life is a big focus here. Both phones house a massive 7000mAh cell, the largest yet in a Note, with the Pro supporting 45W fast charging and the Pro+ going all the way up to 90W. Reverse charging at 22.5W means you can even top up your earbuds or another phone in a pinch.

Camera

Cameras remain a key differentiator. The Note 15 Pro offers a 50MP Sony LYT-600 main shooter, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro cam. The Pro+ takes things up a notch with a triple system featuring a 50MP Light Fusion 800 main sensor, a 50MP telephoto with 2.5x zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide.

Redmi Note 15 Pro camera features

On the selfie front, the Pro has a 20MP lens while the Pro+ comes with a 32MP sensor. Both phones support 4K video and AI-powered tricks like Magic Eraser and AI Portrait.

Durability is another headline. Xiaomi says both devices can survive 2-metre granite drop tests, thanks to Dragon Crystal Glass and a tough fibreglass back. The waterproofing is next level too, with ratings from IP66 up to IP69K, meaning rain, dust, and even high-pressure jets won’t faze them.

The global twist

If last year’s Redmi Note 14 Pro+ was anything to go by, the international model could cut down on hardware. According to a firmware dive, the global Note 15 Pro+ may ditch the 50MP telephoto zoom camera entirely, leaving it with just a wide and ultrawide setup. A smaller 6500mAh battery is also expected, though charging speeds could climb to 100W.

This mirrors the pattern where the China and India versions get the full-fat experience, while the rest of the world sees slightly stripped-down specs.

Prices

In China, the Redmi Note 15 Pro starts at 1399 yuan in first sales (about $196 or roughly Rs55,500), while the Pro+ begins at 1899 yuan ($266 or about Rs75,400).

The phones are available in Midnight Black, Purple, White, and Blue in China, and global rollout details should follow soon.

If the leaks hold true, Pakistani users may see a slightly trimmed version, but given the performance upgrades and battery gains, it still looks like a serious contender in the mid-range market.
