Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to maintain quad-camera setup

Samsung S25 Ultra specifications

WEB DESK: As the reign of the Galaxy S24 Ultra continues, Samsung gears up for the inevitable release of its successor in early 2025. While details may evolve leading up to its launch, certain features of the Galaxy S25 Ultra are starting to come into focus.

Foremost among these is the anticipation that the phone will likely integrate the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. However, speculation abounds regarding potential upgrades to its camera setup.

Recent insights into the hardware and design of the Galaxy S25 Ultra suggest a potential shift in its rear-camera configuration. Initial rumors hinted at a reduction to three rear-facing sensors, yet prominent tipster ‘UniverseIce’ dispelled such notions.

Instead, the tipster asserts with confidence that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will retain its four-camera array, though the extent of enhancements remains uncertain.

The existing quad-camera setup of the Galaxy S24 Ultra sets a high standard, featuring a remarkable 200MP primary unit complemented by OIS and multi-directional PDAF.

Additionally, it includes a 12MP ultra-wide camera with dual pixel PDAF, a 10MP telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom, and a secondary 50MP telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom, both equipped with PDAF and OIS.

Further insights from the tipster reveal continuity in the display specifications, confirming that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will maintain a 6.8-inch screen size akin to its predecessor.

This aligns with Samsung’s consistent approach, as its Ultra flagship series has consistently embraced the 6.8-inch display since the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Notably, while the size has remained constant, the display’s curvature evolved, culminating in the nearly flat panel seen in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Advancements in display technology have been a hallmark of Samsung’s flagship devices, with the Galaxy S24 Ultra showcasing a more durable and anti-reflective Gorilla Armor display protector, an LTPO backplane, and an impressive peak brightness of 2600 nits.

While specifics regarding the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display shape or enhancements remain undisclosed, the consistency in size suggests similarities in overall dimensions and proportions compared to its predecessor.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra measured 162.3 x 79 x 8.6mm, indicating a similar footprint for its successor.
