Samsung brings Galaxy AI to millions of devices

Samsung Galaxy AI

WEB DESK: Samsung is on a mission to enhance people’s daily experiences by integrating artificial intelligence and machine learning into their devices under the umbrella term Galaxy AI.

This initiative aims to boost productivity, add meaning, and inject fun into everyday life.

Today marks the rollout of Galaxy AI to selected smartphones and tablets, courtesy of the One UI 6.1 update.

Eligible devices include Samsung’s flagship models from 2023, such as the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series.

This move extends the benefits of Galaxy AI to millions of users, broadening its accessibility beyond just the latest flagship, the Galaxy S24 series.

While it would have been ideal to see this technology available on older models, this expansion represents a significant milestone worthy of commendation.

While some features in One UI 6.1 will remain exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series due to hardware constraints, all AI capabilities available to Galaxy S24 owners since the beginning of the year will now be accessible on Samsung’s 2023 flagships.

Notable features of Galaxy AI include real-time text and call translations, intelligent text, note, and webpage summarisation, voice recording transcription and summarisation, messaging assistance, advanced photo editing capabilities, and quick Google searches through simple gestures.

Additionally, Galaxy AI offers personalised wallpapers and the ability to convert regular videos into slow-motion footage.

If you own a Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, or Galaxy Tab S9, keep an eye out for the One UI 6.1 update notification.

While availability may vary by region, expect to enjoy the full suite of Galaxy AI features within the next two weeks.
