WEB DESK: With One UI 6.1 now widely available for eligible Galaxy phones and tablets, attention is shifting to the forthcoming One UI 6.1.1 update.

This update is set to debut in July alongside the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Similar to previous mid-year updates, One UI 6.1.1 will primarily focus on Samsung’s flagship models, foldables, and tablets.

Looking further ahead, One UI 7.0 is the next major update on Samsung’s roadmap. Bundled with Android 15, this update will be rolled out to most Galaxy phones and tablets released in the past two years.

The anticipated release window for One UI 7.0 is the second half of October, based on the historical launch timeline of One UI 6.0 and One UI 5.0.

However, this year, there may be a shift in this pattern. Samsung experienced delays with the rollout of One UI 6.1 compared to previous versions, largely due to the integration of Galaxy AI, which may also affect the release timeline for One UI 7.0.

If Samsung intends to introduce new AI features with Android 15 and One UI 7.0, it is plausible that the official release could be pushed to November or later.

As is customary, Samsung is expected to offer users the opportunity to test the new One UI and Android upgrade through a beta programme. The One UI 6.0 beta programme for the Galaxy S23 commenced in August last year, but similar to the official release, the beta for One UI 7.0 might also face delays.

The timeline for the beta and final release of One UI 7.0 may become clearer based on Samsung’s management of the One UI 6.1.1 update. Until Samsung provides an official announcement, these predictions remain speculative.
