WEB DESK: Following the recent launch of One UI 6.1.1 with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6, Samsung’s next major update, One UI 7.0, is generating considerable interest.
This upcoming version, built on Android 15, is anticipated to introduce significant design enhancements and new features.
A recent report suggests that One UI 7.0 will be noted for its ‘ultra-smooth’ animations, reminiscent of those found in iOS and ColorOS. The beta version of this update might be released as early as July or August 2024, provided there are no major development issues.
According to well-known tipster Ice Universe, if everything proceeds smoothly, the beta version of One UI 7.0 could debut in late summer 2024.
Although the tipster had previously hinted at ultra-smooth animations, their tweet about this feature was later removed.
Previous reports have indicated that One UI 7.0 will include redesigned icons, enhanced animations, and a new Quick Panel layout. The update is also expected to feature a redesigned camera app with a quick controls bar near the mode switcher, along with a basic App Lock and a vertical app drawer through Good Lock.
The Galaxy S24 series is likely to be the first to experience the One UI 7.0 beta, with updates potentially rolling out to the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and other high-end devices afterwards.
Samsung is expected to release the stable version of One UI 7.0 by October or November 2024, following several beta releases.
By the end of the year, Samsung aims to make the One UI 7.0 update available to most high-end and mid-range smartphones and tablets, with eligible entry-level devices receiving the update in early 2025.
