WEB DESK: Samsung is renowned for its impressive range of Wear OS smartwatches, with the Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic standing out as top choices for Android users.
However, their high price tags make them inaccessible to many consumers. To address this, Samsung appears to be working on a more budget-friendly option: the Galaxy Watch FE.
Unlike the affordable Galaxy Fit 3, which doesn’t utilise Wear OS, the upcoming Galaxy Watch FE aims to combine the versatility of Wear OS with a price point of under $150.
Reports suggest that the model number for this device is SM-R866, with anticipated variants including SM-R866F (International), SM-R866U (USA LTE), and SM-R866N (Korea).
Interestingly, the model number closely resembles that of the Galaxy Watch 4 (SM-R860), hinting at a possible reiteration of the previous model with potential enhancements such as a newer processor.
It’s plausible that most features of the original Galaxy Watch 4 will carry over to the Galaxy Watch FE.
Considering the Galaxy Watch 4 is already retailing for as low as $150 on platforms like Amazon, there’s optimism that Samsung might introduce the Galaxy Watch FE at a similar or even more competitive price point, making it an enticing option for budget-conscious consumers.
