WEB DESK: As mobile games grow larger in size and complexity, downloading them from app stores is becoming increasingly inconvenient.
The rise of more powerful graphics in mobile gaming also means that performance on your Android phone can feel inconsistent. Samsung is tackling these issues with the launch of its new mobile cloud gaming platform.
After testing the platform last year through a beta release in select regions via its Gaming Hub, Samsung has now announced that the service is fully ready. It has officially moved out of the beta phase and is being rolled out across North America.
If you’ve used the “Instant Plays” feature in the Gaming Hub app before, you’ll have some idea of how this new service works. However, there’s a significant upgrade.
While “Instant Plays” offered quick, mini-games, Samsung’s cloud platform allows Galaxy users to instantly stream full Android-native games without the need for downloads.
Another big advantage is that the cloud service enables users to play more demanding games across all Galaxy devices, regardless of the device’s hardware capabilities.
Because the service is cloud-based, Samsung claims that hardware limitations—such as processing power or storage—will no longer hinder your ability to enjoy high-end mobile games.
Samsung also highlighted how this platform benefits game publishers by providing more reliable access to a larger audience.
Developers can take advantage of Android native APKs, cloud-based attribution solutions, and continue to use their existing in-game monetization methods.
