WEB DESK: In a significant move within the tech realm, Apple Inc. is forging ahead with the development of six new iPad models, including revamped versions of the popular 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
As anticipation mounts, it’s revealed that Apple is embracing OLED technology, with Samsung Display and LG Display at the forefront of supplying OLED panels for these cutting-edge devices.
Adding to the intrigue, a fresh report from Korea’s ET News sheds light on Samsung’s pivotal role in this venture. According to the report, Samsung’s System LSI will exclusively supply the crucial display driver IC (DDI) for the forthcoming iPad Pro models.
This decision marks a departure from Apple’s customary practice of sourcing components from multiple vendors to ensure supply stability and negotiate favourable unit prices.
Despite this deviation, insiders suggest that Apple’s rationale is grounded in the superior quality of Samsung’s DDIs. It appears that the technological prowess and reliability offered by Samsung’s components outweigh the benefits of diversifying suppliers, at least in this instance.
As the countdown to the official unveiling of the next-generation iPad Pro lineup begins, enthusiasts eagerly anticipate a slew of enhancements.
In addition to the adoption of OLED displays, the new models are expected to boast a fresh design aesthetic, powered by the formidable M3 chipset.
Moreover, improvements to the camera setup and the integration of MagSafe wireless charging further underscore Apple’s commitment to innovation.
Not stopping there, Apple enthusiasts can also look forward to the debut of a redesigned Magic Keyboard tailored specifically for the two flagship tablets.
With these advancements on the horizon, the tech world brims with anticipation as Apple prepares to redefine the landscape of tablet computing.
