Samsung delays Galaxy S25 Edge launch, but not due to quality issues

Galaxy S25 Edge launch delayed

WEB DESK: Samsung’s much-anticipated Galaxy S25 Edge, initially set to be the company’s thinnest smartphone, was expected to hit the market in April. However, recent reports indicate that the launch has been pushed back, with the device now likely to debut in May or June.

According to a report from ETNews, Samsung has informed major telecom carriers in South Korea about the revised launch schedule. While initial speculation suggested potential quality concerns, sources clarify that the delay is unrelated to hardware or software issues.

Instead, Samsung appears to have adjusted its plans following the recent passing of JH Han, the head of Samsung DX, which could have influenced the company’s decision-making.

Unlike previous Galaxy launches, Samsung reportedly will not hold a grand in-person event for the Galaxy S25 Edge. Instead, the company is expected to introduce the device through an online announcement, where it will reveal the smartphone’s pricing and availability details. Industry reports suggest that the 256GB variant of the Galaxy S25 Edge could be priced around KRW 1.5 million (approximately $1,023).

The Galaxy S25 Edge is set to offer an impressive set of features, including:

Display: 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite

Cameras: 200MP + 12MP dual rear camera setup, 12MP front-facing camera

Battery: 3,900mAh capacity

Colours: Black, blue, and silver

Samsung reportedly plans to manufacture around three million units of the Galaxy S25 Edge, with the device expected to contribute roughly 10 per cent to the total Galaxy S25 series shipments, which are estimated at 37 million units.

As anticipation builds, fans of Samsung’s flagship lineup will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge. With its premium design and powerful features, the device is expected to make a strong impact in the market upon release.
