Umar Saif shares roadmap for increasing ‘Pakistan’s IT exports by $10 Billion a year’


LAHORE: Caretaker Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, and Science & Technology Dr Umar Saif on Wednesday announced that the IT ministry will be launching an ‘IT export strategy’ tomorrow. 

“Tomorrow we will be launching our first IT export strategy report. This has been developed in collaboration with a top-tier international consulting firm — PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) — for the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB),” wrote Umar Saif in a post on ‘X’.  

He also shared a roadmap for increasing Pakistan’s IT exports by $10 Billion a year.

This is how Pakistan’s IT exports will be increased by $10 Billion a year:
  • $5 Billion:  200,000 Additional IT workforce
  • $3 Billion: 10,000 E-Rozgar freelancing centres
  • $1 Billion: Dollar retention accounts
  • $1: Pakistan startup fund
