WEB DESK: WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is currently in the process of testing a novel feature that permits users to log into their computers using an email address.
This fresh functionality enables users to associate their email addresses with the WhatsApp application on both iOS and Android devices. It is important to note that the existing method of logging into the messaging platform will continue to function as usual.
Presently, WhatsApp users can access their accounts by utilising a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to their mobile phones.
However, individuals who frequently travel and lack a roaming mobile plan often encounter difficulties logging into WhatsApp.
To address this challenge, the Meta-owned application WhatsApp is experimenting with a new email login feature.
This feature allows users to log into their computers from any location worldwide using their email addresses.
The process for email login entails users entering and verifying their email addresses within the meta-operated messaging service. This alternative method of accessing their accounts is available on WhatsApp’s beta versions for iOS 2.23.23.77 and Android 2.23.24.10.
Additionally, users are reassured that their email addresses will remain private and will not be visible to other users.
