Windows 12 to redefine user experience with AI integration

Windows 12 AI integration

WEB DESK: Intel has recently teased a forthcoming “Windows refresh” slated for 2024, aiming to boost sales. At Citi’s recent analyst conference, Intel’s CFO, David Zinsner, alluded to an imminent Windows update, suggesting consumers might consider upgrading their PCs in anticipation.

Zinsner remarked, “We actually think 2024 is going to be a pretty good year for clients, in particular because of the Windows refresh. We still think that the install base is pretty old and does require a refresh. We think next year may be the start of that, given the Windows catalyst.”

These comments, made by Zinsner a month ago, were highlighted by PC Gamer. They come after several months of Intel’s internal documents hinting at Windows 12.

Intel appears to be preparing its Meteor Lake desktop platform for the next Windows generation, likely to be dubbed Windows 12.

AI integration

While Microsoft hasn’t officially disclosed plans regarding Windows 12, there are signs suggesting the company is contemplating integrating AI-powered features into future Windows versions.

Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s head of consumer marketing, stated in a previous interview with The Verge, “As we start to develop future versions of Windows, we’ll think about other places where AI should play a natural role in terms of the experience.”

Microsoft appears to be subtly laying the groundwork for a stronger focus on AI within Windows.

With these developments, the prospect of Windows 12, accompanied by a hardware upgrade centred on AI coprocessors, seems increasingly plausible.
